13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim
Originally released on PS4 in 2020, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim is getting a new launch on Switch. If this name means nothing to you, you may know the studio behind the project, Vanillaware, to whom we owe Muramasa: The Demon Blade, Dragon’s Crown or Odin Sphere. If we once again find the sublime 2D graphic style that made Vanillaware productions famous, 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim stands out for its proposal halfway between a visual novel and a strategy game. This time, the player is brought to embody 13 high school students, from several different periods, who will have to face an invasion of crazy machines, suddenly appeared in the Tokyo of 1985. With its time travel story, the title shines with the great freedom it allows, allowing everyone to progress as they wish.

Aery Early Birds Bundle
As the name suggests, Aery Early Birds Bundle is a collection that brings together three games of Aery series, namely – Aery – Little Bird Adventure, Aery – Sky Castle and Aery – Broken Memories. According to its developers, these titles are presented as non-violent exploration games based on the story of a little bird who must collect memory fragments to discover new worlds and continue his adventure. Experiences that are intended above all to be relaxing through their sensations of flight and the colorful universes that we fly over at different levels. Something to recall certain productions from the studio thatgamecompany, known for Journey, Flower and more recently Sky: Children of the Light.

Cat Cafe Manager
Wholesome game par excellence, Cat Cafe Manager is a management game in which the player must take care of a cat cafe, as its name suggests, in Bourg-en-Chat after having inherited it from his grandmother . After renovating the place, we will have to befriend both felines and other human beings to ensure the sustainability of the establishment. To help with the service, it will be necessary to compose an effective team and distribute them in appropriate tasks. Finally, you are free to compose the cafe menu to attract more and more customers. The whole balance of the game rests in taking care of both your friendly relationships and the cats so that they are as happy as possible. At times, it will also be possible to leave the café to visit Bourg-en-Chat, interact with its inhabitants and unravel the mystery of an old decrepit altar to the glory of a cat god.

Defend the Rook
Published by Goblinz Studio, to whom we already owed Legend of Keepers, Defend the Rook is a title at the crossroads of several genres. Between roguelike, Tactical-RPG and Tower Defense, the game of One Up Plus asks you to face waves of enemies on a squared board in turn-based combat. In addition to the heroes you control, you can place towers and upgrade them to more easily win against your opponents. Powerful spells and other traps are also at your disposal to turn the situation to your advantage. As a roguelike, encounters are procedurally generated to make each encounter unique.

Gotta Protectors: Cart of Darkness
With its cute and colorful pixel art style, Gotta Protectors: Cart of Darkness is a top-down action-adventure game with a retro vibe reminiscent of NES games. In a rather parodic tone, you must install Princess Lola in a cart and move her on the rails through each level until you destroy the enemy castle by rushing over it. It’s up to you to compose your team among the eight Gotta Protectors to face the legions of monsters that await you. Of course, there are classic classes like the magician or the ninja that can be personalized with a multitude of skills. The game is above all designed to be in local or online cooperation for up to 4 players. Finally, the soundtrack is composed neither more nor point by Yuzo Koshiro, known for his work on Streets of Rage, Shenmue or Space Harrier.

Inner Voices
If Nintendo consoles are rather known for hosting games for children, the fact remains that horror games come out regularly on Switch. This is the case of Inner Voices, a first-person adventure and horror game that plunges us into the mind of John Blake, a tormented man who hears voices. As he finds himself in a trap from which no one has managed to extricate himself, the player must try to escape from this place while most of the things visible on the screen are not real. The title offers a certain replayability because the scenario is intended to be non-linear and the labyrinth is composed of randomly generated rooms while new voices will come to haunt you. In total, it is more than five different endings that it is possible to recover after solving different puzzles in this oppressive atmosphere.

Nobody Saves the World
If you are unfamiliar with Nobody Saves The World, perhaps you have already heard of its developer’s previous hit, namely Guacamelee!. But this time, rather than a metroidvania, Drinkbox Studios offers us an action role-playing game in which the player embodies, Nobody, a very ordinary person, except that he can transform into a whole bunch of creatures. From the Ghost to the Dragon to the Slug, in total, our little character has more than 15 distinct forms. In addition, it is possible to combine more than 80 skills and other powerful powers with these transformations to make effective combinations. The icing on the cake, the title also allows you to play in local and online cooperation to help the inhabitants of this world who offer unique quests and navigate procedurally generated evolving dungeons.
