He showed RequiemThe more action-focused approach to stealth and how the violence is beginning to affect Amicia’s personality. Today’s trailer focuses on one of several locations that were shown last week and offers over ten minutes of nearly non-stop gameplay. It also offered fans clues about the story, revealing that the kids are searching for a mysterious island somewhere in the Mediterranean.
RequiemThe final trailer opens with a scene from a plague taleIt’s Amicia and Hugo playing on a swing while talking about the future. It’s a healthy moment between the two brothers, contrasting the violence that has come to dominate their lives. The pair then turn to a traveling monk who might be able to help them with their search. Unfortunately, their meeting is interrupted by a group of soldiers looking for Amicia and her brother.
While Amicia has a variety of weapons at her disposal, the first half of the gameplay trailer focuses primarily on Hugo’s powers. His telepathic link with the rats allows Hugo to “sense” the presence of the soldiers he is searching for in the tunnels ahead. This manifests in the power to see enemies through walls, such as dishonorThe Dark Vision ability of . This makes it much easier for the siblings to evade their pursuers, though they still need to rely on some more mundane tricks, like Amicia’s penchant for throwing pottery.
However, stealth combat shines through in the second half of the trailer, where Amicia quietly takes out soldiers standing between them and the relative safety of a nearby building. Amicia’s new crossbow allows her to pick off distant enemies, but it’s far from the only trick up her sleeve. Smoke pots allow you to stun enemies, while firebombs can ignite puddles of oil or tall grass. The trailer shows Amicia twice pulling enemies into her position with throwables or her slingshot before setting them on fire. She also has a variety of melee takedowns at her disposal, as the new trailer demonstrates.
The final scene shows another of Hugo’s powers in Requiem, demonstrating how he can control swarms of rats to devour enemies. Unfortunately, it’s not a power he has much control over, as an avalanche of rats is approaching. a plague tale‘s brother and sister team. While it’s probably safe to assume the pair survives, it’s certainly a climactic way to cap off the game’s demo.
