One person’s trash is almost always another’s treasure, and while most action movie fans would agree that titles can definitely be called “classics,” it would also be safe to say that Vin Diesel’s spectacular 2002 xXx I wouldn’t be among them.
Rob Cohen’s ode to the days of baggy jeans, frosty tips, and nu metal was a huge box office success at the time after earning nearly $280 million, before releasing a sequel starring Ice Cube that flopped terribly, which ultimately led to the return of Diesel in the aptly. -named The return of Xander Cage.
xXx It’s not an offensively terrible movie, but it is loud, stupid, and extremely dumb. That’s not to say, however, that it still isn’t capable of generating some good old-fashioned internet arguments, with Redditors horrified at the mere suggestion that this is top-tier material.

It’s hard to tell if the original poster is serious or not, because no matter how much fun you have xXxTo call it one of the best the genre has to offer is ridiculous. Then again, so is pretty much everything that happens on screen, so maybe it’s not so outlandish after all.
A fourth installment in the series remains firmly stuck in development hell due to complicated legal and contractual issues, but xXx has been in the midst of a resurgence in streaming, so maybe it’s the best of the best after all. Opinions, on the other hand, are often precisely crafted to fan the flames of discontent, and it’s all one big, huge troll designed to do nothing more than ruffle feathers.
