Game news Apex Legends: finally the return of… Titanfall? Clues appear
It’s no secret that Apex Legends may be a multiplayer game with its own artistic direction, but it’s rooted in the world of Titanfall. And precisely, EA could soon bring the game back to its battle royale with some well-felt maps.
Titan Lamazou
When Respawn Entertainment entered the video game market almost a decade ago, it first offered with Titanfall, an FPS set in a futuristic and dystopian universe, with gameplay that relies heavily on nervousness, wall races, but also mecha clashes. Titanfall 2 was also released in 2016, with a popular single-player campaign and a multiplayer that was just as much.
But since then, no Titanfall to speak of has seen the light of day, much to the chagrin of fans who regularly pray for a new episode. In place, the studio has delivered Apex Legends, a battle royale with watered down graphics that is indeed in the same universe officially, but whose concept still contrasts. Regardless, it was a huge success and the game is still active today. And it just might be time to put some Titanfall in there…
Spotted maps
It was the dataminer KralRindo who made an intriguing discovery within files of Apex Legendsafter the last update: he got his hands on nine multiplayer maps, all taken from Titanfall 2. Obviously, these would be cut for a temporary game mode to come, the “capture of points”. Here are the maps in question:
Exoplanet
Homestead
Angel City
Black Water Canal
Boneyard
Crash Site
rise
Eden
colony
Note that the famous titans would not be included while some parts of the level design could be remodeled to suit the gameplay of Apex Legends. We’ll see when the developers make it all official… if they do.
