Nobody knows exactly what this update consists of, but since the developers have given the update an official title, it could be assumed that Aftershow is the name of the third season of Apex Legends Mobile. But the tweet describes the update as “small” and stops short of calling it a new season. The game’s current Hyperbeat Battle Pass is scheduled to end on the same day Aftershow goes live, but both the Hyperbeat Event Hub page and the Hyperbeat Season Store have a different “expiration date,” and both will be gone. on October 18.
So far, the game has established a rhythm of two legends per season, with each season split in half for a total of two battle passes per season. Historically, new legends have been released alongside new battle passes, with a mobile-exclusive legend debuting at the start of a new season, and a second legend coming from the console and PC versions of the game arriving midway through the season. the season.
Since players aren’t scheduled for a new season of the mobile game until October 18, this announcement suggests that Season 3 won’t debut when the Aftershow update goes live on October 4. Presumably, the same can be said for the upcoming legend: Next up, we have a mobile-exclusive legend, and it’s hard to imagine the developers describing the debut of a new character as a “small” update.
So what exactly does the Aftershow update have in store for players? It’s hard to say. The timer on Hyperbeat’s battle pass page suggests that a new battle pass could be on the way soon, but this would be the first time players have seen three battle passes launch in a single season. If Season 3 is scheduled to debut on October 18, as seems to be the case, then introducing a new battle pass on October 4 and giving players two weeks to complete it doesn’t seem fair, unless Respawn is planning to separate. the seasonal releases and the battle. pass throws.
The tweet announcing the update suggested that patch notes are on the way and will be revealed closer to the release of the Aftershow update. Until then, all anyone can do is speculate on the content of the Aftershow update (or start a wild data mining spree and discover for themselves).
