news tip Apex Legends Season 13: Changes to Ranked Play
Often, the launch of new seasons is an opportunity for Respawn to make significant changes to Apex Legends. This season, it is no exception to the rule and we will be entitled to a lot of changes, especially in the ranked mode.
Added a new division below bronze
Until now, the days starting in the ranked games of Apex Legends were doing it in the bronze division. This therefore made this division the starting one in addition to being the one for the least comfortable players in the game, which was not really going for Respawn.
So, at the launch of season 13, a new rank appears, that of novice. This is where all new players in ranked play start and it will be impossible to be demoted to it afterwards. This therefore allows bronze to once again become a division for the less comfortable players.
At the same time, new players can be sure to start in a division that itself contains only new players. As a result the bronze rank now has a CP move that has been introduced to play there.
Relegations are in place
the other problem that Respawn encountered with the ranked games of Apex Legends was that some players found themselves stagnant at a rank without necessarily succeeding in extricating themselves from it. So, to allow these players to revive, a relegation system has been put in place.
This system, it is simple, when you arrive in a rank, you have a protection of 3 parts which prevents you from being relegated whatever your results. But if you can’t get out of it, you will be relegated directly to half the rank below.

CP Gain Changes
Apex Legends is all about survival, so Respawn made sure to lower the CP gain when you do them before you get to tenth place. They are still viable, but the most interesting thing is now to survive to earn the most points.
Finally, CP modifiers that are tied to mastery level on kills have been toned down. In summary, in this season 13, eliminating a lower level player now grants a little less CP than in the previous season for example.
