To update [Thu 23rd Jun, 2022 00:55 BST]: Although Aspyr has plans for a patch update to address this game-breaking bug affecting a small number of KOTOR II players on Switch, a temporary fix is now being shared. Here is an official statement along with the steps required if you are stuck:
“We are aware of an issue preventing some players of STAR WARS™: Knights of the Old Republic™ II: The Sith Lords from progressing through the game. Our data suggests this only affects a small number of users, but rest assured. I’m I’m sure we’re working on a patch to fix it.”
Q: The game keeps crashing after the Basilisk cutscene, what can I do to resolve this?
A: If you encounter this crash, our suggested workaround is to bypass the point where the crash occurs using the cheat menu. Triple click the left stick, open the cheat menu, select warp and warp OND504.
original story [Tue 21st Jun, 2022 02:45 BST]: Aspyr’s latest Nintendo Switch release, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II, apparently has a bug preventing players from completing the game.
In a social media exchange, a player reveals how they experienced a game crash after the Basilisk Crash cutscene upon landing on Onderon, and that there is no way to complete the game in its current state.
Aspyr responded by noting that he was “aware” that there is currently no way to complete the game:
“Yes, we are aware and our development team is working to deliver the patch as soon as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience in the meantime.”
This issue will be addressed in the next patch, but currently, there is no “ETA” on when exactly it will roll out to players on Nintendo Switch.
