Respawn remembers its zero tolerance policy for threats and will take steps to protect your team.
Unfortunately, it is becoming more and more common to read news about harassment cases by the players towards the different agents of the video game industry. This time we focus on the offices of Respawn, authors of installments such as Apex Legends or Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, due to the latest message posted on social networks regarding the safety of their employees.
We have a zero tolerance policy for threats and harassmentRespawn“Recently, we have seen an increase in bullying towards the members of our development team”, begins the statement shared via Twitter. “We welcome input from the community, however the line between constructive feedback and harassment from our development team cannot be crossed”.
“We want to remind our players that we have a zero tolerance policy in the face of threats and harassment towards our developers. We will take appropriate action to ensure health and safety of our team”, reads the message from Respawn. “We love hearing feedback and will continue to work together with our community to foster a collaborative and respectful environment and maintain the competitive integrity of our game.”
As we have already said, this is not the first time that the video game industry has suffered a similar situation. To mention some recent cases, it should be remembered that harassment has also been experienced by developers such as Santa Monica Studio, which asked for a debate without toxicity while waiting for God of War: Ragnarok, or Bungie, which decided to rethink its communication for a series of received threats.
