Bambi the deer will be reimagined as a bloodthirsty “killing machine” in a newly announced horror movie.
Noble Bambi: The Reckoningthe film will follow the main character and offer “an incredibly dark retelling of the 1928 story we all know and love,” according to its director, Scott Jeffrey. The official synopsis for the film says that Bambi will be a “Vicious killing machine that lurks in the desert… Prepare for Bambi on the rage.” While no further plot details have yet been revealed, insiders have predicted that the film will track Bambi as he takes revenge on the hunter who killed his mother in the original Disney animation.
Bambi: The Reckoning is scheduled to begin development in January next year and is produced by Rhys Waterfield. The producer is known for directing Winnie the Pooh: blood and honey, which is set to release next year and similarly offers a horror-genre take on Disney character Winnie The Pooh.
