Game News Bandai Namco files the name of a new compilation
The information went relatively unnoticed, but small web investigators noticed the arrival of a new name in Bandai Namco’s purse. Indeed, according to interested parties, the Japanese publisher has registered the “Last Recollection” trademark for Europe and Japan and many are hoping for the imminent arrival of a compilation bringing together the games of the .hack// franchise.
It was on April 1st that the “Last Recollection” brand registered in Europe and Japan. If it took until the last few hours for the operation to appear in the eyes of the general public, fans of the .hack// license were quick to get excited. For now, this is only a hypothesis, but it would be an opportunity for the first games in the series to leave the camp of PlayStation 2 exclusives to join the machines of the moment. According to the website Gematsu and fan feedback, one can imagine that the .hack//Last Recollection would include .hack//Infection, .hack//Mutation, .hack//Outbreak and finally .hack//Quarantine. That is four episodes for a single script arc.
AN UNKNOWN SERIES BACK SOON
Less popular in the West than in Japan, the .hack series (Dot Hack) is a fictional universe created by the CyberConnect2 studio and bringing together a whole series of works: video games, anime, manga, novels, etc. It was first in a literary form that the franchise was born before being adapted in different forms, including video games. If .hack//Last Recollection includes the first episodes of the saga, it would be an opportunity for many to discover the beginnings of this relatively unknown license. Infection, Mutation, Outbreak and Quarantine indeed relate the journey of two pirates, Kite and BlackRose, who will try to discover what lies behind the evils suffered by Kite, but also Kazu, BlackRose’s brother. The universe is quite particular, but representative of a time when new franchises appeared regularly. We just have to wait for a possible announcement which should concern the PlayStation (4/5), the Switch and the PC.
