It’s a wrap! Well it’s a wrap on Black Panther derived series Iron heartAt least according to a tweet showing some sweet party favors signaling that production has come to an end.
What’s really interesting about the series’ potential ending is that its main character has yet to get a proper MCU introduction. Ironheart is ready to appear in black panther 2but we don’t know how prominent his role will be.
However, it is clear that the character will play a significant role in the future of the MCU. After all, she has to be important enough or the studio wouldn’t have invested in an entire series to debut Ironheart.
Ironheart will be played by Dominique Thorne in the series, who will get “the most advanced armor since Iron Man,” according to the show’s description.
The character first made waves in 2016’s The Invincible Iron Man comic. Since then, he’s teamed up with Spider-Man, treated Tony Stark like a mentor, and has even gone toe-to-toe with Thanos. The superhero’s real name is Riri Williams, a 15-year-old prodigy from MIT who dared to build a suit similar to Iron Man’s. She eventually gets help from the man himself and creates one of the most technologically advanced suits in history.
In an interview with BFTV earlier this year, Thorne revealed that he was always a fan of Marvel.
“I think my mother might disown me if I didn’t. It’s very much a Marvel home. She knew about Ironheart before I was offered the role. So it was an impressive and inspiring moment to think that I would be chosen to play this woman and bring her to the screen in this way. So yes.”
Iron heart it’s coming to Disney Plus sometime late next year. We’ll keep you posted when we hear an official release date, which will hopefully be announced soon.
