The next MCU movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, is expected to be a box office hit. The first box office estimates for the film have come in, suggesting that the film could gross at least $175 million for its November 11-13 opening weekend in North America alone.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, which obtained the number from NRG tracking data, the figure will grow as Disney unleashes more promotional blitz for the film. A worldwide box office estimate for Wakanda Forever was not provided in the report.
For comparison, 2018’s Black Panther earned $202 million in North America during its opening weekend and went on to earn $700.4 million in North America and $647.1 million in international markets for a total global haul. of $1.347 billion.
