Blade Runner: the PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC remaster is here with a retrofuturistic trailer

Game News Blade Runner: the PlayStation, Xbox, Switch and PC remaster is here with a retrofuturistic trailer

If Blade Runner is a franchise that is still very strong today and that many hope for a modern video game, you should know that a first title was already released in the 90s… and that this one is back.

To rebuild a culture

If the first film was released in 1982, you should know that a Blade Runner video game was released many years later, in 1997, in the form of a point & click. A title that you may have completely forgotten, but that was without counting on Night Dive, which has worked in recent years on a remastering of the software on PC and home consoles.

And justly, the project that bears the sweet name of Blade Runner: Enhanced Edition has just become available on Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. To announce the color, a final trailer can be found in our video player above: this new version therefore offers a big smoothing, reworked 3D models, revised animations and cutscenes. A support for large screens is also integrated on PC.

Goodbye Rick, hello Roy

As for the story, this plunges us into 2019 in Los Angeles, always with this very pessimistic vision of a future ravaged by war between humans and replicants. We play Ray McCoy, a Blade Runner (and colleague of Rick Devard, the hero of the feature film) investigating the massacre of animals in a shop in the city… which will lead him to surprising revelations.

This Enchanced Edition is sold for only 9.99 euros. A good opportunity to rebuild your culture and breathe a little between two big blockbusters. Physical editions are even planned at Limited Run Games from 29.99 euros.

Note in passing that Night Dive has been working on the remake of the first System Shock for quite a while now, cult FPS released in 1994 and video game mainstay. He and his suite will notably lay the foundations of what will become, many years later, a certain BioShock.
