Game news Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2: The multiplayer beta is already a problem before its release!

Hard not to have heard about it in recent days, the reboot of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is at the heart of video game news with a multiplayer beta which has just completed its first phase. But a few hours from launching the second, the multiplayer beta seems determined to be long overdue for some players.

MW2 beta continues

Originally released in November 2009, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 sounds the time for a fresh start and returns in a reboot version. Something to delight the biggest fans of the famous first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward and published by Activision, especially since a multiplayer beta opened hostilities on PlayStation last weekend.

After a first phase exclusively reserved for players drawing their weapons on PS5 and PS4, the beta extends on Xbox and PC from September 22, in other words tonight at 7 p.m.. Only available to those who pre-ordered the game initially, the beta will then benefit from open access to all players from September 24 to end two days later, on Monday September 26, at 7 p.m. precisely.
But at the dawn of the kickoff of this second phase, some players seem to have some problems to pre-download the beta, especially on PC.

A temperamental pre-download

You only have to take a look at the discussion forums on Steam or Battle.net to read that the pre-download of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta does not seem to work for everyone. In effect, some gamers are complaining that they can’t pre-download it on PC, with the beta not even showing up in their game library, despite pre-ordering it.

I pre-ordered the MW2 game but still can’t download the beta.

I pre-purchased MW2 last night so I could download the beta. It doesn’t show up as one of my games in the Battle.net launcher so I can’t preload the beta.

The game is not showing up in my library even though it says I own it on the store page.

Whether on the Steam platform or that of Battle.net, many similar messages have been flourishing on the discussion forums for the past two days, as well as the incident tickets sent to the assistance support which do not seem to really solve the problem. problem.

Other players try to fend for themselves and submit a range of possible solutions: restart or even uninstall/reinstall the Steam or Battle.net app, add the game to your favorites list, download from the store page… Some find their happiness there, others not… No miracle solution in any case, knowing that Activision Blizzard has not yet expressed itself on the question.

As a reminder, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is due out October 28 on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.
