In 2008, LucasArts released a much-hyped game heralded as a major new part of the game. Star Wars saga. star wars the force unleashed bridged the gap between Revenge of the Sith Y A new hopefeaturing Galen Starkiller as Darth Vader’s incredibly powerful apprentice.
The game was notable for showcasing the Force like never before, with Starkiller able to fry entire squads of Stormtroopers with Force Lightning, fling objects around the map, and, most memorably, rip a Star Destroyer out of the sky and send it crashing onto the surface of Earth. a planet. A dubious sequel followed, but when Disney bought Star Wars they quickly made Starkiller’s adventures non-canon.
But, with so many old characters from the ‘Extended Universe’ returning, is it time to resurrect Starkiller? Fans on Reddit are debating the issue, theorizing that he would make a great Imperial Inquisitor:
The consensus in the responses is that while it would be fun to see Starkiller return, his story shouldn’t be left out as a supporting character. One of the most upvoted answers points out that Starkiller’s “whole thing” was that he was a super-secret and ridiculously powerful apprentice, so being an Inquisitor in a public role would mean that he would basically be a completely different person.
Also, more prosaically, the name ‘Starkiller’ has already been taken by the force awakensStarkiller base.
At this point, it’s probably best to let the character stay in the old games. It would be nice to see these get a modern remaster at some point, particularly since the alternate history DLC that sees Starkiller fight his way through the original trilogy’s heroes makes for a very fun mini-story.
