Channel your inner horse with horse tales
As a self-proclaimed former horse girl, riding horses in games is something I always look forward to. titles like breath of the wild, red dead redemptionY The Wizard definitely scratch that itch, but sometimes all I want to do is ride without other mechanics getting in the way. Although my childhood favorite, Barbie Horse Adventures: Wild Horse Rescueis out of date at the moment, there is a new game coming soon that brings horsemanship to the forefront of its mechanics: Aesir Interactive’s Horse Tales – Emerald Valley Ranch.
The gameplay trailer highlights a bunch of different features that players can expect from a horse-centric game, aside from riding around the open world of course, such as training and raising horses, washing and grooming them, managing stables, collecting items, complete missions and races, and more. From the looks of it, it’s all the management stuff you’d expect from an open-world horse game without the stress of combat, so if you like a more laid-back game, this might be just what you need.
The art style seems reminiscent of breath of the wild too, and I’m not surprised I’m still seeing the influence of that game five years later. I doubt it has the same level of polish as BOTH OF THEMbut it looks like it’ll be fun anyway, if you’re into this sort of thing.
Honestly, Horse Tales – Emerald Valley Ranch it’s the kind of game I would download on my Switch and play when I needed something simple and relaxing. I haven’t played a horse-focused game in quite some time, so it would be nice to go back to my roots on that front.
Horse Tales – Emerald Valley Ranch It will be released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC on November 15 in North America and November 3 in other territories. Players who pre-order the game will also have access to a set of Unicorn studs to dress up their horses. The limited edition comes with extras like decals, a patch, and game-themed postcards.
