News hardware China: this smartphone brand wants to compete with iOS
It’s official, the Oppo smartphone brand is renewing its interface with ColorOS. This operating system based on Android 13 will allow the brand to add many features, including aesthetic ones.
Android 13 and ColorOS: the best combo to compete with iOS 16?
ColorOS is the interface overlay for smartphones from the Chinese brand Oppo. ColorOS combined with Android 13 will bring its share of new features to all Oppo smartphones already available.
Owners of Find X5 Pro, X5 or X5 Lite were able to test the new features via a beta, but now everyone will be able to try ColorOS 13.
Although it was recently learned that only Google Pixel 4 to 6 can benefit from the update to Android 13 for now, it is known that devices from other brands, including Oppo, will soon be upgrading to this operating system during the end of the year.
Oppo wants other manufacturers to understand that they have learned from their mistakes to give their customers the best possible experience. This is why the majority of new features concern the general design of the OS.
The blue shades are in the spotlight since Oppo wants to make its interface more homogeneous and readable. All icons are reworked to make the interface more understandable.
By following the new features of Android 13 such as the management of improved applications via a folder interface, ColorOS will allow you to better manage widgets dedicated to the weather, calendar and others. The same goes for applications that will be easier to access, especially those dedicated to services like Spotify or others.
ColorOS also wants to make navigation easier by allowing users to manage multiple screens via mirroring, that is, to display applications on another screen, all wirelessly. In particular, Oppo will let you use the quick connection with computers running ChromeOS.
ColorOS: Safety first
When an operating system updates, it is also often for security reasons. This is the case for the arrival of ColorOS which will allow you to pixelate the names and profile photos of your contacts during a screenshot made on Whatsapp or Messenger.
ColorOS follows the trend of Android 13 by welcoming the automatic deletion of contents from your clipboard if they have not been used.
Other features such as parental controls have been improved in order to protect your smartphone, but also children who may use your smartphone under ColorOS.
Other features have not yet been revealed, but we could expect other new features for Oppo smartphone users. The upcoming arrival of Android 13 should shake up the other manufacturers who will also update their interface overlay.
