As each day passes, we get one day closer to The flash theatrical release, and on Thursday the one-year countdown to the DC movie officially began. At least in theory.

The flash It is expected to be released on June 23, 2023, according to IMDb. That’s pretty clear. However, what casts doubt in the minds of many fans as to whether Warner Bros. will stick to that release date is that the film’s supposed star, Ezra Miller, appears to be embroiled in new scandals that are escalating with each passing day. .

The latest example, as previously reported by We Got This Covered, is a claim that Miller lives on a farm in Vermont with a mother and her three children, and the father of those children is concerned about the situation. The property is allegedly “filled with guns and ammunition, as well as marijuana, which Miller also illegally grows on the farm.”

All of this comes after multiple arrests in Hawaii, including for alleged assault, as well as several families seeking protective orders for Miller on behalf of their children. In one case, the parents of a 12-year-old boy were granted a temporary restraining order. Additionally, Miller was caught on video appearing to strangle a fan in 2020.

The one year countdown to The flash was a discussion point for Reddit user u/Snoo_83425 on the r/DC_Cinematic subreddit.

“The Flash releases a year from today,” the post read.

Unsurprisingly, the post sparked a lot of conversation among fans.

“Should have been released 4 or 5 years ago…” one user wrote.

“I’ll believe it when I’m in the theater and the movie plays in front of my eyes,” another fan wrote.

With 12 months remaining in the calendar year, there is much more time for additional Miller scandals to surface, one user feared.

“How the hell are they going to market this movie?” was a commenter’s question to which, for the life of us, we can’t find the answer either.

Another fan’s guess is that WB will probably delay the movie again, do a series of reshoots, and just kill off Miller’s character, introducing Wally West in Barry Allen’s place.

To a fan, a complete cancellation of the movie wouldn’t be out of the realm of reality at this point.

A lot of people have been advocating for Grant Gustin, the actor who plays the titular hero on the CW. The flash series, to take Miller’s place.

If everything goes according to plan, The flash it will hit theaters on June 23, 2023. But at this point, would it be a guaranteed box office bomb if the film were released as-is? We’ll have to find out what WB does from here.
