Doctor Strange 2: another MCU character should have had a role in the film

news culture Doctor Strange 2: another MCU character should have had a role in the film

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness nearly hit $1 billion in worldwide box office revenue in just over a month. However, we continue to learn about the film every day, in particular thanks to its release on Disney+ in the United States. This is how it was revealed that a superhero should have appeared in Sam Raimi’s film.

The Wasp deleted from the film

Behind the scenes of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is gradually being revealed, with its own episode of the making-of series Assembled being planned for Disney+. The film has even already been released on the SVOD platform in some countries. After the revelation of several cut scenes in the editing, we now learn that a character should have had a role in this second opus of Doctor Strange. Screenwriter Michael Waldron revealed in the film’s audio commentary that the Wasp should have appeared before a plot twist. These scenes were therefore never shot, but we can still wonder what Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness would have looked like if the Wasp had participated in the adventure.

The first version of the Illuminati

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness already has its share of characters. With the multiverse being ripe for bringing in different versions of Stephen Strange, this concept has also allowed for other versions of well-known MCU characters to appear, like of the Illuminati. It is precisely this group of superheroes that the Wasp was to be part of. Unfortunately, she would not have survived her encounter with Wanda, any more than the superheroes we saw in the film. The Scarlet Witch would have defeated him with as much ease as the others: she literally had to crush the Wasp with a simple clap of her hands.. Michael Waldron, on the other hand, did not specify whether the Wasp would have taken on the features of Hop Van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) or those of his mother Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer). The two actresses will in any case be starring in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, set for release February 15, 2023 in France.
