Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness is now available to purchase or stream digitally and with this release, new secrets about the film have been revealed.

While the film had many cameos, it was originally slated for more. In the audio commentary function of doctor strange 2 digital release shared by Scarlet Witch Twitter NewsMichael Waldron, the film’s lead screenwriter details that an Avenger almost made the cut.

“Yeah, I think I saw Aliens and was thinking about the way they slaughter those Marines and, yeah, I’m glad it worked. I think originally, the Wasp was in some version of the Illuminati, and the Wasp shrank down and flew at Wanda, and [Wanda] he just clapped his hands and he just crushed Wasp in the first draft.”

While the Wasp was not included, the members of the Illuminati who met their fates just as violently. Waldron shared that he was worried that the Marvel Studios team would go along with the idea, but he’s grateful he had the support of Sam Raimi and Kevin Feige to take things even further.

Ultimately, it may have been a good move to limit the number of cameos in the film and in the theatrical cut, all members of the Illuminati feel fresh and right for the film.

This was not the only secret that emerged from this new digital release of the film. Fans can now get their hands on Doctor strange in the multiverse of madness digitally, and will be available physically in July.
