Unlike many other games, Evil Dead: The Game it doesn’t have a menu option to change the resolution on PC. You can’t just jump into the graphics menu, click an option, and have the resolution that works best for your monitor (or the option for best performance).
This guide will tell you how to change the resolution in Evil Dead: The Game by editing a system file located in the directory listed below.
How to change the resolution in Evil Dead the Game
Typically, players would go to the in-game graphics settings menu and change the resolution in Windowed mode. But this default method doesn’t work right now, and players have to resort to editing a configuration file before an official patch arrives.
This is what you need to do to change the resolution in Evil Dead: The Game:
- Close the game.
- Gonna “AppDataLocalEvilDeadSavedConfigWindowsNoEditor“folder on your PC.
- Right-click “GameUserSettings.ini” proceedings.
- Select “Open with Notepad“.
- Find the following six lines in the text:
- LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX.
- LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY.
- Desired screen width.
- Desired screen height.
- LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth.
- LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight.
- Write the numbers for the desired resolution manually on those lines.
For example, if you want a resolution of 1920×1080, those six lines should look like this:
- LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeX=1920.
- LastUserConfirmedResolutionSizeY=1080.
- Desired screen width = 1920.
- Desired screen height = 1080.
- LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenWidth=1920.
- LastUserConfirmedDesiredScreenHeight=1080.
You can choose the resolution that best suits your screen. You can also check if the resolution was applied in the game’s graphics settings menu afterward or by using third-party software, which shows the actual resolution of the game.
