A new week begins and that rhymes with new games to discover. And one of the best platforms to do this is obviously Steam. Every 53 minutes, a game is released on the Valve platform. Suffice to say that it is necessary to do a little sorting. This is why we are once again offering you a selection of Steam releases to watch in particular this week.
Itorah
We start the week with a small 2.5D platform game and unpretentious. The new game published by Assemble Entertainment (Lacuna, Leisure Suit Larry…) takes us to the strange world of Nahucan. No human lives in these hostile lands, except the young Itorah. To find out what happened, she will have to cross the lush forests, the craggy temples and the stormy cliffs of Nahucan. These numerous decorations are hand painted and inspired by the landscapes of Latin America. But Itorah is not just a platform game. To carry out his quest, Itorah will have to use his atypical weapon to defeat the masked and inhospitable beings inhabiting these places. The developers also promise us breathtaking and demanding boss battles. It is therefore not for nothing that the game was compared to big names like Dead Cells and Hollow Knight.

Shattered Pixel Dungeon
Do you know Pixel Dungeon ? It’s an all-pixel roguelike released a few years ago. If the game attracted many players, it was above all by making his source code available for free in 2014 that he succeeded in forging a small community. Many of them have used the code to offer their own version of the game, like Evan Debenham. A few days after the release of the Pixel Dungeon source code, the young man embarked on the creation of Shattered Pixel Dungeon. The development, which was initially supposed to last a few months, was spread over several years until the title was released on mobiles in August 2021, where it was generally well received. This week, this dungeon-crawler/roguelike arrives on PC. On the program: a new interface, new features and reworked mechanics. And if not, we find the four character classes, the five dangerous dungeons and dozens of monsters to slay.

This week, the seedy New Orleans of this narrative adventure finally opens its doors wide to us. As a reminder, in this game you are looking for your brother, Blake, missing since the death of your mother. But behind this strange disappearance hides a much bigger secret. Prepare for long questions about technology, memory, salvation and our relationship to nature in a contemplative story inspired by the literature of the southern United States.

Expedition Zero
Enigmatic Machines offers us its own version of the survival horror with a horrific adventure in the heart of cold Siberia. Sent to carry out a scientific expedition in an old research camp, you and your team are attacked by an evil force. Unfortunately, no one survived it except you. Your goal then: stay alive. Collect enough to forge a suit to face the dangers and monsters lurking outside. Facing them, you have two choices: hide or defend yourself. This decision is not to be taken lightly, especially since the lack of resources and the extreme temperatures will not make your task easier. Expedition Zero will not be an easy adventure. And if you want to see what it’s all about, you can try the demo of the game available on Steam since February 2, 2021.

The Planet Crafter
If survival interests you but the horror side a little less, you can fall back on The Planet Crafter. This space survival game offers you, like a Satisfactory, to transform the hostile ecosystem that surrounds you to make it more welcoming and habitable. You will therefore need to gather resources to be able to improve your base and, who knows, build a new biosphere for the entire human species. And survival obliges, thirst, life, and oxygen will matter. Always remain vigilant will be necessary not to make this land your tomb. The game’s prologue has been available since December 19. On more than 5000 evaluations, the latter records an extremely positive overall result. The game therefore promises to be on track to delight fans of terraforming.

A Memoir Blue
Annapurna Interactive unveils a new atypical independent experience, this time developed by Cloisters Interactive. A Memoir Blue is defined as an interactive poem tracing the life of Miriam, a professional athlete. Between traditional drawing and 3D, it is a poetic journey into the meanders of the past where memories intertwine to forge the future. From her very first steps to her long career, discover what led Miriam to become the woman she is. In this great evolution, a woman played a primordial role: her mother. A Memoir Blue is not just a poem about the link between the past and the present. The game has as its central theme the mother-daughter relationship with its lows, but especially its highs. Ghostwire Tokyo
The week ends with a big release: Ghostwire Tokyo. After The Evil Within and The Evil Within 2, Tango Gameworks changes direction to offer us a more action-adventure game, with a backdrop of Japanese folklore. The basic premise is as follows: the population of Tokyo has mysteriously disappeared to be replaced by strange supernatural forces, the Faceless. Young Akito finds himself in the middle of this disaster and will have to do everything to drive out these demons and find the Tokyo he loves so much. Indeed, his body merged with a spiritual being, thus granting him many abilities that make him the last hope of the Japanese capital. This gives a gripping gameplay in a successful atmosphere.
