last friday i saw Good music to guarantee access to safe abortion for all, released exclusively for a single day (October 7) on Bandcamp to raise funds for abortion access in the US.
The fundraising compilation featuring exclusive tracks from Wet Leg, Soccer Mommy, David Byrne and Devo, among many other big name acts, was available for $19.73 in honor of Roe v. Wade, though Bandcamp made it easy for supporters to contribute. as much as they would like.
An incredible $230,000 was raised in 24 hours, from the sale of the compilation and t-shirts featuring the “Liberate Abortion” compilation cover designed by Kim Gordon.
