News hardware Google: an imminent release for a still secret Pixel smartphone
With the potential arrival of the Google Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro smartphones next fall, we could expect a long silence before the announcement of new Google-branded products. But obviously, the American giant would still have some under the hood and could well surprise us.
Towards a Pixel 7 Ultra and Pixel Fold?
According to rumors from various Chinese sites, and relayed by the informant Jon Prosser, always well informed, Google is in the process of preparing two new models for their Pixel range.
Pixel smartphones, prodigies of photo quality, should offer us the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro models in the fall of 2022. But obviously that’s not enough for Google, and rumors ignite about the preparation of a Pixel 7 Ultra, but above all, a folding Pixela bit like the Samsung Galaxy Flip and Fold.
Pending confirmation via an official announcement, this folding smartphone should be called the Pixel Notepad and open like a Galaxy Fold.
The clues come from the source code of the Android Open Source Program (AOSP), but also from the beta version of Android 13. It is easy to imagine the role of the Google Pixel 7 Ultra, that of offering an even more successful version of the formula , especially with a better processor and even better photo modules.
On the Pixel Notepad side, the folding smartphone should follow the trend of folding smartphones that have been swarming in our stores since the arrival of the Galaxy Flip and Fold. To give you an idea, the OPPO brand is also developing its folding model, the OPPO Find N.
Features for the Google Pixel 7 Ultra and Pixel Notepad?
According to information gleaned from the Chinese site Weibo, the production would have been entrusted to Foxconn, a Taiwanese factory which produces in particular the assembly of the iPhone. This subcontractor is currently producing Google Pixel 7 Ultra and Pixel Notepad, and it is easy to imagine that Google should not delay in communicating on this.
According to Jon Prosser, the one who spread this news, the Google hardware conference will take place on October 6, 2022 and that all devices, Pixel 7, Pro, Ultra and Notepad should go on sale a few days after this conference.
In terms of technical specifications, the Pixel Notepad should take the form of a folding smartphone, which converts into a tablet. The screen should have a 7.6-inch 120 Hz OLED panel designed by Samsung themselves. The phone is expected to feature 2K resolution and a 100-megapixel camera lens.
The Pixel 7 Ultra and Notepad should come across as more premium models than the 7 and 7 Pro. Thus, Google wants to expand its range to please everyone. To tell you, even the hull of the Pixel Notepad should be different from other models for a more premium material, without further details.
As you will have understood, next October 6 could mark the arrival of new challengers in the range of high-powered smartphones, but also in the foldable smartphone which is currently on the rise.
