Game News Grounded: Survival Xbox exclusive is adjusting a big co-op feature days away from release!
Approaching its release in version 1.0, the grounded survival game that propels us to the scale of an ant will see one of its main multiplayer features completely revamped. Find out what it is.
After two years of early access, the developers of the Obsidian Entertainment studio had the time to carefully polish their copy before the release in version 1.0 of Grounded on PC, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. The opportunity for them to improve certain features of the game deemed perfectible, and in particular the one we are going to talk to you about here.
Last straight line before launch
At the end of July, the teams behind the game Grounded finally announced a release date for this multiplayer survival game where our daily environment takes on gigantic proportions. Version 1.0 will therefore be available on September 27 on PC, via Microsoft Store and Steam, but also on Xbox One and Xbox Series X | S. Grounded will also remain accessible on the Game Pass. As promised, Obsidian Entertainment has taken advantage of the time that has passed to review certain features of the game, and in particular that of shared worlds.
Fewer constraints for the coop!
As we pointed out in our Grounded early access test, the title first shines with its originality by offering a universe of unusual proportions for a refreshing adventure. Both hostile and enchanting, the Grounded universe is particularly immersive, but the experience is even more fun in multiplayer ! However, in the absence of dedicated servers, the cooperative mode involved certain constraints by requiring the host player to remain connected so that everyone could explore the chosen world.
From now on, with the “Shared Worlds” feature, things will be much easier. Concretely, the worlds will be stored in the cloud and the host can leave the game without other players being affected.
Indeed, in the case of a shared world, any player will be able to host the world while the original owner is offline, which will not interrupt the game. All progress will be synced so it can be picked up later, so the next host player can continue from the most advanced stage. This feature will also create a copy of the chosen world to be able to discover it solo like a standard world. Everything will even be compatible between the different versions of the game!
The Grounded game is expected on September 27 in version 1.0 on PC, via Microsoft Store and Steam, but also on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
