once you get the scissors and cut the police tape on hello neighbor 2 Act 1, you will be able to access the second floor of Peterson’s house. Here, you’ll come across two additional puzzles that reward two more keys to the red door that leads to the basement. One of these is the photo frame puzzle, one of the trickier tasks to complete on Day 1. Here’s how to solve it.

How to solve the photo frame puzzle

You will find the photo frame. — not to be confused with the photo frame concealing the combination lock on the first floor — in the second-floor bedroom of the Peterson house; is the room with the bookcase and the hidden space that hides battery for toy racing car. If you don’t know where it is, it’s the room at the top of the stairs to the left.

Inside the room, go right to the sofa and chairs, then go right through the archway and turn left to find the picture frame on a table next to a tall shelf and cardboard boxes.

Solving this puzzle requires you to find four picture pieces scattered across the top floor. But before we discuss their locations, you’ll need to get the weight of a pressure plate later.

How to get the weight of the pressure plate

Go to the back of the room with the picture frame and climb up on the closet hidden in the back of the room by the lamp on the chair near the cardboard box. You will see some cobwebs covering an object on top of the large brown bookcase in the back right corner. Use the scissors to cut them and grab the weight.

Where to find all image pieces

Image Piece 1 Location

With the weight in your possession, drop down and exit the bedroom through the archway next to the picture frame. On the other side, stop and turn right. Cut the police tape on the blue shelf to grab the picture piece.

Now leave this room completely and go down the hall to the second bedroom on this level (the one with the toy racing car). Don’t go in yet. Instead, use the crowbar to open the large box at the end of the hall for the second picture piece.

Now go into the bedroom. You will see a pillow fort in front of you at the other end of the room. Look for the white pillow with the gray and green striped patch. Cut it out with the scissors for the third of the four image pieces.

Image Piece 4 Location

Standing on the pressure plate.

From the pillow, turn left. You will see a blue and orange pressure plate on the floor near a shelf. Place the weight on the pressure plate, which will open a cabinet on the opposite side of the room next to the race track. Go through it for the fourth piece in the picture.

Return to the bedroom with the photo frame and place the four picture pieces in the frame. A secret compartment will open on the shelf to the right of the photo frame, giving you another key for the locked red door to the basement.
