If your build in Monster Hunter Rise depends on preserving a thin swath of sharpness at the end of your gauge, as well as a healthy dose of critical hits, you might consider adding a bit of the Master’s Touch ability into the mix. This ability grants a chance for your weapon to not lose sharpness when dealing critical hits. This happens 20 percent of the time at skill level one, 40 percent of the time at level two, and 80 percent of the time at level three. Although there are a few ways to get Master’s Touch, one of the most flexible is to use Master’s Touch Jewel, also called Mastery Jewel.
All the necessary materials and how to get them.
- Lazurite Jewel: This is a hard to find ingredient for this recipe because they are hard to find for farming. Basically, there is a chance for Lazurite Jewels to drop as quest rewards that become available once you hit HR 8. There also seems to be a higher drop rate for completing event quests. You need eight to craft a jewel of the master’s touch.
- Fire Dragon Scale+: These can be found by hunting Teostra, and are moderately rare. You do have some chance of getting a scale though, as these drop from 21 percent of body carves, 17 percent of tail carves, and 26 percent of target rewards. They also appear in 25 percent of the dumped materials. You need six of these.
- Teostra Mane: These can also, unsurprisingly, be found hunting Teostra. Your best bet here is to aim for the monster’s head, as it adds an additional 25 percent drop for every broken part you can get. It also appears in 19 percent of target rewards and 18 percent of body sizes. You need four for Master’s Touch Jewel.
- Goss Harag bile: This is the rarest material you need for this recipe, and it comes from Goss Harag. The optimal way to get them is to capture a Goss Harag, which gives you a 5 percent drop chance. While fighting Goss Harag, you should try to focus your attacks on his back, as the broken parts of this area will be bile 8 percent of the time. You can also get lucky and get one at 3 percent of target rewards or 1 percent of dropped materials. Fortunately, you only need one for this recipe.
