First announced earlier this week by Nintendo, a new Nintendo Direct will take place later today, premiering worldwide at 7am PT/10am ET/3pm BST. You can watch the full presentation just below which, according to Nintendo’s earlier announcement, should be about 20 minutes in total.
Unlike recent Nintendo Direct presentations, however, this showcase will focus entirely on one game: Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Nintendo’s big summer RPG is due out in just over a month’s time, on July 29. , so there is relatively little time left until the latest entry in Monolith Soft’s RPG franchise is finally here on Nintendo Switch.
As such, this should be a pretty extensive deep dive into the world and workings of Xenoblade Chronicles 3. Previously, we’ve had gameplay-focused presentations at previous Nintendo Direct showcases, including a reveal on the work of the game classes for each individual character in the upcoming sequel, and this showcase should be no different.
20 minutes is a pretty long introduction for the new Nintendo Switch RPG, all things considered. Considering that Nintendo has already revealed the various special editions of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in recent months, this showcase could revolve entirely around the game. Considering that the Xenoblade Chronicles games have had some incredibly intricate and complicated role-playing systems to work with in the past, a deep dive into them wouldn’t be much of a surprise.
