The DCEU got a much-needed boost with the announcement that The Suicide Squad director James Gunn is being promoted. Along with producer Peter Safran, Gunn is overseeing the newly reorganized DC Studios and overseeing future DC animated films, series and projects. The MCU’s loss is the DCEU’s gain. This isn’t the first time we’ve been promised that DC will become a Hollywood force to rival Marvel Studios, but with Gunn and producer Peter Safran at the helm, we finally have reason to be optimistic. Let’s take a closer look at why this shakeup is exactly the kind of good news DC has been needing.
