Krafton’s PUBG Report Outlines Permanent Bans For G-Coin Fraud

A PUBG report issued by Krafton outlines how players of the battle royale game have been permanently banned after a Steam investigation revealed they had fraudulently claimed refunds and chargebacks for microtransactions using the shooters’ G-Coin currency.

G-Coin can be purchased for real money and can be used to purchase a variety of cosmetics and in-game items in PUBG, including clothing, weapon skins, and vehicle decals. If players make G-Coin purchases by accident, or the purchases are made without their permission, they may contact PUBG publisher Krafton to request a refund for these transactions. However, some players are reported to be claiming chargebacks and refunds without having made any actual purchases, resulting in a permanent ban on their accounts.

“As we recently noticed a sharp increase in the number of potential chargeback cases regarding certain PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS (G-Coin) items, we conducted an extensive investigation with Steam and found that these in-game transactions were confirmed to be chargebacks. fraud,” says a Krafton report. “Therefore, we have placed permanent bans on accounts related to these fraudulent transactions.”

Krafton invites players who may have experienced a ban despite not claiming any fraudulent transactions to submit a support request. “If your account received restrictions/bans when you haven’t made any fraudulent transactions, please submit a ticket to PUBG: BATTLEGROUNDS Support and we’ll get back to you as soon as possible,” the publisher says.

Elsewhere in the PUBG world, the battle royale was recently banned by the Taliban for “promoting violence”, and is expected to be inaccessible in Afghanistan within the next 90 days. A new collaboration with F1 manufacturer McLaren has also been released, arriving with the latest 19.2 update along with changes to various animations and the weather system.
