It’s a beautiful day to be a yellow stone fanatic, and we could argue that he always is, but there is something special in the air today. Fans have received news about some of our favorite characters in the upcoming season and we are ecstatic. Well, then we are almost completely delighted. There’s a good deal of fighting ahead for the Dutton family, leading to a bit of hesitation. The Duttons have been through a lot:
- near death experiences
- Life-Changing Split-Second Decisions
- Walk with a constant target on your back.
It’s not sunshine and rainbows that keep fans coming back for more; it is the mixture of good and evil, the sensual and the heartbreaking and, of course, the love story between Rip and Beth. As we dive into today’s news, we recommend kicking back with your favorite beverage; there is a lot to unpack here!
Cole Hauser and Kelly Reilly talk about Beth and Rip’s emotional journey
Kelly Reilly points out that Beth has always had an intense attraction to Rip, and it’s something she chooses not to fight.
“Beth has always been dedicated to Rip. Marriage doesn’t change her. I think her love for her and her love for him is one of the few things that keeps her demons from her at a distance from her (in most of her).
Instead of fighting it, she falls into the comfort that Rip gives her like a warm blanket. He is perhaps the only person in this world who can give her something that feels like home, safe enough for her to let her guard down, at least partially. She also points out that she hasn’t fully let him in yet, something viewers of the series are already aware of.
Beth keeps some big secrets from Rip, and it will be interesting to see the ways she reveals them.
“The war feels internal this year for her. She is haunted by the past, afraid of the future, and fighting with everything she has for the present moment.”
Of course, being the true gentleman that he is, Rip is ready to help Beth break down her walls, and he’ll be working with her this season in several moments that are beautiful and quite “slow” at times.
“In the beginning, there are some wonderful moments between the two of us, some things that she’s going through in her past, that she has to acknowledge for the first time, and me trying to help her through that.”
If anyone can help Beth, it’s Rip, and we can’t wait to see what happens when she’s finally ready to reveal the deepest pain she’s been hiding from her. We know there’s a lot of fear involved, but Rip is the guy who’s been by her side every day since they’ve met, the one who tells her she never has to say the words “I’m sorry” to him. There will be a level of pain involved when he finds out, but she will also see a side of him that she understands; Beth just has to let the moment happen.
Luke Grimes Reveals Details About Kayce’s Biggest Hurdle Yet
Luke Grimes took a moment to brief fans on Kayce Dutton’s future, and it’s apparent we haven’t seen the last of her vision quest and the sinister future she saw during it. Kayce saw the end of “us” and it’ll take some time to figure out what “us” she’s talking about, but she’s not exactly in a position to want to lose anyone. Unless, of course, they are enemies of the Duttons.
“When you meet him [in season 5], is outside the ranch. He is almost happy. It seems that she likes the little life of hers in the res with the family. But as the story progresses, you realize that he can’t stay away for long. Something calls him to take care of that legacy.”
The legacy you’re talking about is that of the Dutton family, and it’s complex. Ranch life is more multifaceted than most will know. Every ranch owner knows the struggles, and every ranch worker knows a different way of life, but Yellowstone Dutton Ranch immediately does two things for everyone associated with it.
He gives them a layer of protection (when they take the mark) and paints a target on their backs. What exactly that goal means is different for everyone, but we’ve seen enough despair, fights, and heartbreak to know that grief doesn’t spare the Dutton family or their associates; instead, it seems to gravitate toward them.
the cast of 1923 is growing again
Taking a step away from yellow stone‘s main series, the upcoming prequel, 1923is growing again with an exciting announcement today.
Jennifer Ehl (zero thirty dark, little men) joins the cast as a nun named Sister Mary O’Connor. She teaches at the local school for American Indians located in Montana, and will no doubt have a relationship with the Duttons. One of the main ingredients of the Dutton family story is their relationship with Native Americans and the struggle for land. We are curious to see how 1923 reveals more of that story, like 1883 it only slightly unveiled him.
Season 5 can be described using these words
Grimes also discussed season 5 as a whole, not just what’s in store for her character, Kayce. In the midst of everything that’s going on, including the conclusion of her vision quest, she has a lot to balance in her own aspect, but she won’t be the only one.
He points out that each season feels different from the last and that Taylor Sheridan still uses his tactics of including as many twists and turns as possible while still writing a story that makes sense and keeps viewers engaged.
“Each season has felt incredibly different. I think that’s the beauty of Taylor’s writing. He knows how to make this show take every twist possible and keep it so fresh. Each year has felt very different from the previous one.”
Here’s to an exciting new season and lots of fun on the horizon. yellow stone kicks off with new episodes on November 13, and it’s going to be one hell of a ride.
