Game News LEGO: a brand new game unveiled that is likely to be talked about
There are plenty of LEGO video games. But LEGO Bricktales, which has just been announced, intends to do well by promising one of the best experiences in the entire video game saga.
The perfect game to develop your creativity
LEGO is very clearly one of the most popular franchises in the world and it owes its fame (among other things) to ultra-strong partnerships. If we no longer count the collaborations in the world of toys, video games are not left out with a huge number of adaptations, the next in date being none other than that of Star Wars.
But also, from time to time, totally original LEGO titles appear. Last night, during the “Future Games Show Spring Showcase” held by Microsoft, the organization has lifted the veil on LEGO Bricktales, an all-new game that relies heavily on player creativity.
The principle is rather attractive on paper: we must cross a multitude of levels supported by a sparkling story and warm graphics, with however the challenge of solving the puzzles standing in our way. To do this, we will have to create their own solutions based on LEGO bricks, such as building a vehicle or suitable platforms. Creativity is therefore essential and above all, it is allowed thanks to a clever object editor, ultra-permissive.
A proven concept
Aficionados will recognize in these lines the principle of LEGO Builder’s Journey, released in 2021 and which was proposed as “a geometric puzzle game”. There was therefore the possibility (and even the obligation) to make your own LEGO creations thanks to the tools provided: an app that has been very successful with extremely positive reviews on Steam. On the side of the press, some did not hesitate to qualify the title as “almost perfect for a LEGO game”.
Given the success of this first attempt, the firm has apparently decided to bring context (with a story) and a more controlled coating in LEGO Bricktales, so as to establish a real adventure and not just a sandbox focused on construction. In any case, this is announced by Thunderful Games and ClockStone Studios, which confirm the arrival of the software for 2022. We are still waiting to find out which platforms are affected, but we already know that the PC will be there, via Steam.
