Logitech G Cloud was just announced, but it’s already had a huge price cut at Best Buy and Amazon. The promising portable game console it’s $299.99 (was $349.99) (opens in a new tab) at both retailers, saving you $50 off the regular price. Scheduled for release on October 18, it will allow gamers to play some of the latest games on the go and through cloud gaming services.
The capture? Steam Deck is just $50 more for the base spec. Of course, the Steam Deck offers a very different experience, focusing on Steam gaming rather than cloud gaming, but it’s Logitech G Cloud’s biggest competition if you simply want to play PC games on the go. However, we’d expect Logitech’s device stock to be much easier to come by, so if you’re in a hurry to game on the go, this might be the best solution.
The handheld offers a 7-inch Full HD 1080p touchscreen display with a 60Hz refresh rate and a 16:9 full-screen ratio. Battery life will vary, but Logitech estimates 7-12 is possible. hours depending on what you’re doing. That’s considerably more than the Steam Deck, but that’s because it’s more of a dedicated gaming phone than a gaming PC in your hands. In addition to playing games, you can also access the Google Play Store and download social networking applications and other tools.
With game-grade controls that include haptics, a gyroscope, and rechargeable controllers, the Logitech G Cloud could be a good choice if you want to play Xbox games on the go and your smartphone doesn’t feel right for you. At $299.99, it’s substantially cheaper than buying one of the best gaming phones too.
