Ray is finally on the way, with an official logo and release date announced last weekend. The superhero genre is full of characters trying to do the right thing and play by the rules, but sometimes it’s fun to see characters whose moral compass doesn’t always point north. That concept is the idea behind Ray. Now Marvel fans are wondering which “villains” will be included in the movie.
Little is known about the film’s premise, other than that it will bring phase five of the MCU to a close. There have been many versions of the Thunderbolts within the comics, and while they often set out to act evil, they often end up as a force for good. The main difference between them and the two shoe avengers is their methods, which are often much more brutal.
They can work in a similar way to DC suicide squad, in which a somewhat corrupt government agency rounds up the less desirable beings with powers to do the dirty work that other heroes can’t. We have already seen an enigmatic Contessa Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfus) in both The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Y black widow apparently recruiting the disgraced John Walker and the distraught Yelena Belova.
But who will actually show up? The MCU has no shortage of villains or antiheroes, as they’re often portrayed. Since in the comics the group is started by Baron Zemo, it seems very likely that he will appear in the movie as well. As mentioned above, we’ve seen Contessa get close to John Walker and also Yelena Belova, so there’s a good chance they’ll make the list as well, though fans have their doubts regarding the latter.
There are still plenty of other options in the MCU, and fans are wondering what the full lineup will look like.
Many weighed in on the matter, and while it seems like Zemo is a must-have for just about everyone, there are some differing opinions when it comes to the rest of the cast.

There seems to be a lot of buzz about the return of some of Netflix’s villains. Reckless series now that the character is considered MCU canon.
Although we have yet to meet these heroes, many comic fans want to see these yet-to-be-adapted characters join the MCU.
Production is still a long way off, but it’s likely that over the next year we’ll get some clues as to who’s joining the team. To see them in action, fans will have to wait even longer as the release date is set for July 26, 2024.
