The first WANTED monsters you’ll encounter in Metal Max Xeno Reborn, though foreboding, are avoidable. Therefore, you can advance to other areas of Distokyo without fighting them. Nevertheless, Zamza, a terrifying arachnid-like cybernetic monster, blocks all paths beyond the Spider Gully. Therefore, you must defeat them to progress through the campaign.
Fighting Zamza is a challenging task. After all, this monster will corner you inside the skyscrapers of the ravine, leaving little room for evasion. Also, with tremendous attack power, Zamza can annihilate your tank in a matter of seconds. However, despite these disadvantages, it is possible to fight this monster alone and win.
What do you need to know about Zamza?
Zamza essentially looks like a giant robotic spider. However, compared to the six-legged Cannon Hoppers you’ll encounter on the way down the ravine, Zamza is significantly larger. Additionally, Zamza has a sleek metallic finish, eight tapered legs, and a speckled purple back. If you can take this monster down, you’ll have a significant payday. Your reward is 33,000 G.
The information data sought establishes the following:
“
HO71: Damn?! He came down from that building!
HNG: Shit! Run! Try to escape!
HO58: We need to get to higher ground, the Kiyosu underpass is too isolated…”
However, after defeating Zamza, we also got this information in the monster library:
- Description: A SoN-class monster, among the worst of the worst. Instead of killing his prey, he uses them as decoys to attract more victims.
- EXP: 750
- Gold (excluding bounty): 511G
- Weaknesses:
- 50% weakness to electrical attacks
- 25% weakness to cold attacks
- Dropped Items:
- Zamza Core
- sonic sword
- killer core
Where will you find Zamza?
There is a group of dilapidated skyscrapers beyond the Laser Walkers field outside the Big Atrium Exterior. You can get close to these skyscrapers by fighting through the field of Laser Walkers or by crossing the nearby bridge to the other side. If you’ve already found Toni in the DEAD OR ALIVE sub-quest, then you’ve taken this route before. There’s even a chance that you’ve seen Zamza perched on a skyscraper from your highest vantage point.
If you drive into the center of the cluster of skyscrapers, Zamza will drop from the skyscraper and start attacking. Therefore, if you plan to fight Zamza at ground level, you should develop a plan of action after Zamza’s attack.
What weapons should you equip?
High attack power weapons are always a fantastic choice when fighting WANTED monsters, and Zamza is no different. Therefore, he must equip cannons for his first two slots and install the double stroke trait token However, using some machine guns is also beneficial, especially if you equip the machine gun race chip, allowing him to fire all of his machine gun weapons simultaneously.
Also, investing in cold and electric elemental weapons is a must. freeze blast Y thunder blade Both cannons are enough for this fight. Also, Ray Y frostcaster machine guns are useful. Finally, thunder bird it’s a useful SE to equip as well.
Still, these weapons are not cheap. For example, Thunderbolt and Frostthrower each cost 18,000 G each. Also, Thunderbird costs 44,000 G. Also, weapons like Freeze Blast and Thunder Blade cannot be purchased from the outlet store. Not to mention you can’t craft Thunder Blade without killing Zamza first. So all these weapons will either cost you your time or your money.
We recommend searching as many crates, debris, and metal detectors as possible before leaving gold for weapons. You might come across one of the weapons mentioned above on your travels.
Another option is crafting weapons. Both Thunderbolt and Frostthrower are relatively simple weapons to craft. These are the materials you will need for each one.
frostcaster
- 1,050G
- 1 13mm cannon
- 1 cooling system
- 1.30 t High-tech scrap
Ray
- 1,050G
- 1 13mm cannon
- 1 lightning electrode
- 1.30 t High-tech scrap
If you can’t equip any of the elemental weapons listed above, focus on beefing up your equipped weapons and engine as much as possible. Anything you can do to increase attack power and SP is vital to succeeding in this battle.
How to defeat Zamza
Defeating Zamza is a daunting task. While the game offers suggestions for approaching this battle, they are vague and misleading. However, after some trial and error, here are a few lessons we learned to defeat Zamza.
Should you build your party first?
When we defeated Zamza, we accomplished the task alone. However, if he is willing to put in the extra time, completing two side quests, the last drunk Y ALIVE OR DEAD, will add Toni and Yokky to your battle formation. These additions will significantly increase your chances of survival against Zamza.
So do we recommend stacking your party first? If required? Nope.
Can you attack from above?
The hunter’s record of the wanted monster data entry implies that attacking from higher ground is the most successful plan. Considering that you can see Zamza from the skyscraper where you found Toni, this idea makes sense. But unfortunately, one major factor discredits this approach: you can’t drive your tank right up to the skyscraper. The roads that lead to this destination are too narrow, so you will have to descend with your vehicle.
How can you use the environment to beat Zamza?
So, you can’t attack Zamza from above. Also, meeting Zamza head-on will make you a sitting duck. So how can you win this battle? If you’ve already beaten Gun Taurus, the answer is more obvious than you think. This battle boils down to attacking from a location that provides cover for your tank.
First, you need to lure Zamza. Therefore, you will have to risk entering the center of the dilapidated skyscrapers that house the beast. Once Zamza hits the ground, back up to get out of the enclosure as quickly as possible. While you can take a few hits from Zamza, the monster should follow you long enough that you have a clear shot from outside the skyscraper enclosure.
At this point, you can attack Zamza in the same pattern as you attacked Gun Taurus. First, approach the enclosure close enough to land a hit on Zamza without entering. After the attack lands, Zamza will target your vehicle. Then back off enough to reduce the engagement. Zamza will lose track of you, giving you another chance to attack without taking damage. Continuing this attack and retreat pattern will eventually lead to victory!
What weapons can you craft using Zamza parts?
There are three perk drops that you will receive after defeating Zamza. First, like other WANTED monsters, Zamza drops a Murder Center, an essential material for various weapon upgrades. The second is the sonic sword, a powerful sonic cannon. Finally, you will receive the Zamza Corea material needed for two weapons, listed below.
