Game News Minecraft: Mojang and Microsoft are revamping the beta program! The details
Minecraft has been around for over 10 years, and its popularity has never wavered. Many creators, programmers, and gamers continue to roam the randomly generated lands and create entire worlds. Today Microsoft and Mojang detail a major change, already seen by some users in the Xbox interface.
The Minecraft beta program is getting a makeover!
Minecraft players will soon have to say goodbye to the Bedrock Beta program. The developers have indeed officially unveiled Minecraft Preview, already accessible, and which will eventually replace the old program. For the teams, it is a evolution of the beta programwhich will facilitate the player experience without having too many consequences on habits.
The appearance of Minecraft Preview should allow Microsoft to extend the betas to other platforms, the latter being currently limited to Xbox consoles, PCs and Android devices. What’s more, the new app is separatewhich will not affect “your standard Bedrock experience”, and players will no longer have to choose between the beta version and the “final” version of the title. In other words, it will be possible to play the game in its beta version and the normal game without worry on the same device! If you are on iOS, it is possible to access Minecraft Preview, but you have to register and places are currently limited.
The Minecraft beta is still available on Xbox, Windows, and Android. On Xbox and Windows, the existing beta program will have some overlap with Minecraft Preview before existing beta programs are retired, Microsoft says.
A plan already established
A few installation issues have been reported on the Xbox Windows interface, but they appear to be easily circumvented through the Microsoft Store. It is also important to note that all PC Game Pass or Game Pass Ultimate subscribers can access the program! Addressing Xbox console gamers, Microsoft and Mojang add:
Although not officially released on Xbox yet, Minecraft Preview is now available for all Xbox Insiders to help us test things out. To learn more about the Xbox Insider Program, please see its FAQ. There will be more information and/or instructions to read once you are in the Xbox Insider Hub.
Minecraft Preview will be added to the Minecraft launcher later this year, but the teams specify that for the moment, the import of the worlds will not be possible. However, this functionality is under study with the aim of integrating it in the future. Currently, the Minecraft Preview program includes the cross-platform play, the marketplace on certain media, the Realms subscription and special servers, as well as achievements.
