Mortal Kombat Creator Ed Boon Teases an MK Character for MultiVersus

Mortal Kombat video game series creator Ed Boon responded to a fan question about adding a Mortal Kombat character to MultiVersus. In a recent Twitter Q&A session, user damontae99 asked Boon about the possibility of a Mortal Kombat fighter appearing in MultiVersus, and Boon had a cheeky response: “[t]That would be dangerous for me to answer.

Ed Boon has been known to give fans red herrings, so it’s always a good move to take anything Boon shares on Twitter with a grain of salt, even when it seems plausible. However, eagle-eyed fans have mined data from the MultiVersus and discovered files for Scorpion and Sub-Zero, the two ninja mascots from the Mortal Kombat franchise.

It’s not easy to tell if Boon’s Twitter response is sincere. Warner Bros. Media and studio Player First Games have not officially announced anything about a Mortal Kombat character becoming MultiVersus. Nonetheless, there is plenty of evidence to suggest that Mortal Kombat fighters will make it in MultiVersus. We suspect that Scorpion and Sub-Zero will be coming to the game to cross-promote a new Mortal Kombat project, be it a new game or the live-action movie sequel.
