The showrunner of the Resident Evil Netflix series has confirmed that the events of the first season finale will lead to the appearance of a main character from the game in a possible second season.

The first season ended with Jade and Billie from the 2022 era fleeing New Raccoon City with the Albert Wesker clone ‘Bert. Your destiny? If you believe what is written in a handwritten note given to Jade, they are headed to Japan to meet a certain Ada Wong, who first appeared in Resident Evil 2. She is a fan favorite character and, often helps (or hinders) the player. all while she works for her own ends in the background of most games.
Showrunner Andrew Dabb has now confirmed that all roads lead to Ada, telling Screen Rant (opens in a new tab) she will appear “100 percent” in a second season, which has not been confirmed at the time of writing.
However, it may not be long until we hear about a Resi revamp. The series has dethroned Stranger Things season 4 and is currently pretty much at the top of Netflix’s charts, despite being one of the worst-received video game adaptations to date.
For the most part, Resident Evil has avoided any major ties to the source material. However, he has answered the question of how Wesker survived the events of Resident Evil 5. I mean, he didn’t: Wesker was replaced by one of his clones. Naturally.
