For five episodes, She-Hulk: Lawyer has been a Marvel series in search of a supervillain. Now, in the same episode where Titania proves that she’s definitely not anyone’s nemesis, she-hulk finally delivered a villain we can work with: Intelligence.
But who are the Intelligence in Marvel comics? And what does his introduction here mean for the Marvel Cinematic Universe? Let’s dive. Spoilers ahead for she-hulk Episode 6.
she-hulk Episode 6 explained
After last week’s Daredevil teaser, she-hulk Episode 6 takes a somewhat disappointing turn, sending Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk to a wedding for her high school friend Lulu (Pattie Harrison) while her colleagues must deal with a lawsuit against a certain Mr. Immortal (we’ll have more). about him in another article).
However, the two plots intersect when she-hulkCo-workers discover a 4chan-esque website called Intelligencia where people share cruel memes about the green-skinned superhero, and perhaps plot to murder her, too.
The episode then ends with the reveal of some kind of high-tech organization behind the Intelligencia website, which appears to be plotting to steal She-Hulk’s blood after that failed attempt earlier in the season. Meanwhile, Jen hits it off with a guy named Josh at the wedding who may or may not be a member of Intelligence with the username “HulkKing”.
But let’s back away for a second. What is Intelligence, and what does its introduction here potentially mean for the future of the MCU?
Intelligence and Wonder
The Intelligence was originally introduced in the 2009 comic. hulks fall by Jeff Parker and Paul Pelletier. It is a team of the most intelligent supervillains in the Marvel universe, which at the time included both MODOK and the Leader.
Intelligence’s most notable achievement is probably the creation of the Red Hulk. The group needed a weapon to counter the Hulk, so they convinced General Ross to undergo the transformation. However, it didn’t exactly work, and the Red Hulk ended up draining the leader of his powers.
If you recognize that some of these names are important to the future of the MCU, you’re not wrong. In fact, Intelligence could play a crucial role in shaping at least two major Marvel movies.
Intelligence and the MCU
The two figureheads of the group, MODOK and the leader, are set to play a prominent role in the near future of the MCU. We know that MODOK will appear in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (possibly played by Corey Stoll, Bill Murray, or even Jim Carrey). We also know that the Leader (who first appeared in 2008) The incredible Hulk played by Tim Blake Nelson) will be the main villain of Captain America: New World Order.
it is very possible she-hulk It could introduce two of the biggest villains in Marvel’s Phase 5, but even more exciting, it could kick off the Hulk’s next adventure.
she-hulk seems to be setting up a long-awaited Hulk plot, starting with Bruce Banner’s return to the planet Sakaar in Episode 2. By bringing a group designed to fight him along with the potential creation of the Red Hulk, Marvel may be putting all the pieces together. . for a long-running Hulk-focused story.
Then again, before you get too excited, keep in mind that the MCU also has a habit of completely changing its source material. Until we see MODOK, the leader or Red Hulk, there is no guarantee that they will appear in she-hulk. Intelligence could just be a bunch of goofy sexist guys looking for Jennifer Walters, though we’re hoping for something a little more epic.
