His trio of protagonists cannot be lost: they are “losers having a horrible day”.
After a few weeks battling with rumors and leaks, finally 2K and Gearbox have announced New Tales from the Borderlands, a debut installment in the franchise’s line of narrative spin-offs. Note that we are talking about an independent episode, it is not a prequel nor is it a sequel to the story of Rhys and company. Its managers have taken advantage of the Gamescom 2022 opening ceremony to complement the announcement with all release detailsincluding trailer, price, date and platforms.
Needless to say, New Tales from the Borderlands bills itself as a strictly plot-driven, cinematic single-player adventure. In it, we control a trio of characters —Octavio, Fran and Anu— with their own motivations and a common enemy: the Tediore corporation, whose armed wing rules the planet of Promethea. One of the strengths of the show is that, according to Gearbox, your decisions will define how the plot progresses in unpredictable ways.
New Tales from the Borderlands is coming this October 21 to PC, PlayStation, Xbox and SwitchWith the premise of “three losers on the worst day of their lives” and the classic humor from the Borderlands series (I’m sure you’ll recognize the talking gun from the BL3 trailer, for example) at Gearbox will keep the line of the Telltale original but put their own creative spin on it. And considering that the time to see it available in stores is not too far away, presumably we will have even more details about the gameplay soon.
Thus, New Tales from the Borderlands will arrive on October 21 on PC (through Steam and the Epic Games Store) as well as on Xbox and PlayStation consoles of both generations, and even Nintendo Switch; in exchange for 39.99 euros in the standard version and 49.99 euros in the Deluxe. The latter includes both the new campaign and the original Telltale campaign also in digital format.
