Warner Bros. Discovery has just published a press release on its communication around DC films in the future… We will not have a dedicated convention this year!
After two years of pandemic where face-to-face conferences were no longer relevantthe audience returns in major events, both in video games and other cultural fields. In particular, the Comic-Cons are back in 2022 ! But it can mean the end of conferences dedicated to a publishing house especially.
DC Fandome is over!
In effect, Warner Bros. Discovery announces in a press release :
With the return of in-person events, Warner Bros. Discovery is thrilled to be able to connect with our fans live at many Comic-Cons around the world and will not be scheduling a DC Fandome in 2022.
As a reminder, the DC Fandome had been launched from 2020and had taken place also in 2021 for a second edition. We therefore learn that the various DC announcements will be featured in Comic-Cons. We imagine in particular that the two main Comic-Cons of the United States, in New York and San Diego will be an opportunity to make big DC announcements in the future.
We await news of upcoming Warner – DC productions
In 2020, the DC Fandome had amassed over 150 million cumulative views live and delayed. The first images of the Snyder-cut from Justice League were also shown during the DC Fandome. Last year, comic book fans were able to discover the first trailers of The Batmanpictures of the game Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League … For the next conferences, we hope to have news of season 4 of the animated series harley quinnmovies Shazam! Fury of the Gods and Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom planned for next year, and possibly at the next Comic-Con, a final trailer for black adamwhich is due out in October.
What about Batgirl and The Flash?
There are still a lot of questions about the movies Batgirl and The Flash. Indeed, Batgirl is filmed and edited, it has even already been shown in test screening, yet the movie was recently canceled. We imagine that it could still be again put on the track for a cinema release, as the work on it is already advanced. For its part, the film The Flash is still slated to release in the summer of 2023. However, the promotion for the film is clearly truncated by the many cases that stick to the skin of the main actor, Ezra Miller. We therefore hope to learn more about Batgirl and The Flash during the upcoming Warner and DC conferences.
Warner Bros. Discovery will be present in October at New York Comic-Con.
