One Piece Odyssey: a new game for 2022
In 1997, the One Piece universe was created by Eiichiro Oda. It is therefore the 25th anniversary of the saga this year and many announcements were made today to celebrate this anniversary during a live Youtube. One of them concerns One Piece Odyssey, a new JRPG expected for this year on new generation consoles since it is planned on PC but also on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Xbox Series. The title is developed by Ilca, known recently for producing Pokémon Sparkling Diamond / Sparkling Pearl.
An original story by Eiichiro Oda
Presented with a trailer of more than three minutes (present in the header of this article), One Piece Odyssey will tell an original story directed by Eiichiro Oda himself. Luffy’s crew (but without Jinbei) appear to have been shipwrecked on an island with ancient ruins and are greeted by a protagonist never before seen in the main storyline. During the trailer, we also see many protagonists already known as Smoker or members of the world government. A shipwreck that seems to be worth its historical weight since the last sentence pronounced by the narrator leaves its weight of suspense:

Still, it will take some time before we see this One Piece Odyssey land. It is Tsuzuki Katsuaki, producer of the game at Bandai Namco, who indicates that the characters and their abilities will be presented as the weeks go by. One Piece Odyssey is expected this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series and Steam.
