News hardware PC Gamer: we finally have the release date of AMD’s latest processors, the Ryzen 7000
There’s not much mystery surrounding AMD’s future processors anymore. The date has just been made official by the red team. The Ryzen 7000s will be unveiled at an upcoming conference.
The Ryzen 7000s officially arrive
AMD unveils in a press release the release of its new processors. We learn that the date of the conference is set for August 29 next. The live will take place by video and will be broadcast at 1 a.m. French time. There is also a poster on which we can read “together, we make PCs progress”.
So, what exactly are we expecting from this conference? Already we will find the CEO of the AMD group, Dr. Lisa Su. It presents the Zen 4 architecture and the new AM5 processor platform. This introduction will then be followed by the official announcement of the Ryzen 7000 chips. To follow the conference, everything happens on the AMD YouTube channel. A replay will be available on the American company’s official website.
We already know the technical sheet and the price of the Ryzen 7000
On the price side, they remain quite hypothetical. These are the prices displayed by an official reseller. Prices are for PC builders, so without any cooling. In addition, it should be added that it is rare for resellers to have official figures. Usually the rates arrive a few days before the official announcement of the selling price. We can still get an idea of the final price.
Unfortunately it’s a bad surprise. We imagined a reduction of a hundred euros on the new processors, it seems that this will not be the case in the end:
- AMD Ryzen 9 7950X: 1140 Canadian dollars, or 870 euros with the current conversion rate
- AMD Ryzen 9 7900X: 777 Canadian dollars, or 590 euros with the current conversion rate
- AMD Ryzen 7 7700X : 613 Canadian dollars, or 466 euros with the current conversion rate
- AMD Ryzen 5 7600X: 423 Canadian dollars, or 322 euros with the current conversion rate
The latest report saw falling prices on all processors. Unfortunately only the Ryzen 9 7900X should actually be at 600 euros as expected. For the others, we turn more to an additional hundred euros.
The official release for the general public should arrive in September according to all logic.
On the performance side, it seems inevitable to see a boost in power, but also in consumption. processors like the Ryzen 9 5950X should go from 105 Watts to 170 Watts for the Ryzen 9 7950X.
The number of cores and threads should not move according to the latest rumors. On the other hand, we would switch to performance cores up to 5.7 GHz on the most powerful processor.
