Game News PlayStation VR 2: the number of games at launch revealed, a solid line-up?
The time has not come for the PlayStation VR 2 to fully reveal itself, but Sony is working on it, in the shadows. While waiting for a real reveal, Jim Ryan took the liberty of specifying the number of games that will make the line-up of the virtual reality headset.
More than 20 games to boot!
The PlayStation VR 2 showed what it looked like, what its controllers looked like and what it had inside: however, it is clear that we still do not know what games are planned on this interesting platform. Sauf one, the famous Horizon: Call of the Mountain, announced months ago.
It was Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan who made some official statements during Sony Corporation’s 2022 Business Segment Briefings 2022. In the Game & Network Services segment, he confirmed that the PlayStation VR 2 would rely on over twenty games when it launches. And we are talking about major titles, either first-party (therefore from its own studios, like the new Horizon) or from third-party publishers.
A release in 2023?
Alas, Apart from Horizon: Call of the Mountain which is co-developed by Guerilla Games and Firesprite (both belonging to Sony), the line-up is still completely vague. A priori, the developers of the VR game Jurassic World Aftermath would also be on a project planned for the launch of the helmet, but we will have to wait patiently for a formalization in good and due form.
As for the release date, that is not known but clues and rumors point to a commercialization in 2023a period that would fit rather well with Sony’s communication schedule established so far.
Virtual reality is not the only area targeted by Sony since we learned this morning that mobile, PC, the metaverse (in which the PS VR 2 could play an important role) and even cloud gaming were also in line of sight of the Japanese manufacturer: more information on the future of PlayStation can be found at this address.
