Of course, you can still participate in raids or receive different Pokémon from field research tasks or different encounters to complete special research tasks, but the Pokémon Spotlight Hour dominates all the wild spawns in the game.

The Spotlight Hour event only lasts an hour, giving you a limited window to find this Pokémon or allowing you to avoid it if you’re trying to hunt others for an event.

How Pokémon Go Featured Hours work

Pokémon Go Spotlight Hour occurs every Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in your local time zone. Featured Pokémon for the event are always announced in advance, with a strict schedule. There will also be an upgraded reward for the event. For example, Wingull will be the center of attention at the event and all players will receive double XP for catching Pokémon.
