god of war
We start without getting too wet with a PlayStation classic that deserves your attention if you still haven’t. While its sequel, God of War: Ragnarok, arrives in a few months (November 9), this is the right opportunity to catch up on the first adventures of Kratos accompanied by his son Atreus since God of War is at € 9.99 for the moment. Moreover, if you have a PS5, we remind you that a patch to take advantage of the technical capabilities of the console was deployed some time ago to make the game even more visually impressive. And if by some miracle you’ve never heard of this title, well know that it’s a beat’em up, a game in which you face a lot of enemies, in a (semi-)open world which takes place in Norse mythology. After the death of his wife, Kratos leaves with his son Atreus to scatter his wife’s ashes on the highest peak in the world. Along the way, they will meet many figures from the Norse pantheon, while the plot relies heavily on the father-son relationship.
Persona 5 Royal
If you are on vacation, you surely have time to immerse yourself in a relatively long adventure that is impossible for you to complete on a daily basis. For this reason, summer is a good time to play J-RPGs, Japanese-style role-playing games that often have a lifespan of several dozen hours that are not always compatible with everyday life. Thereby, you may be tempted to launch Persona 5 Royal which is currently € 20.99 on the PlayStation Store. Admittedly, we’re a little over budget, but it’s for a good cause. While the title is clearly one of the best J-RPGs on the PS4, if not of its generation, it puts you in the shoes of a high school student who arrives in Tokyo and will face strange phenomena. . Accompanied by comrades encountered along the way, the player alternates between managing his daily life as a student and exploring dungeons with more classic but very effective turn-based combat. With its sublime anime aesthetic, its incredible soundtrack and its rich gameplay, you understand why we warmly recommend Persona 5 Royal for this summer. Afterwards, we can always advise you to wait for the game to be released in the Xbox Game Pass and on Switch this fall, but perhaps you will have less time to devote to video games at that time…
It Takes Two
Once again, we are not going to get too wet on this suggestion since‘It Takes Two is simply the title voted best game of the year 2021 at the Game Awards ceremony. Still, you might have missed out on this experience because this isn’t a big-budget triple-A blockbuster. Here, we follow the adventures of Cody and May, a couple on the verge of divorce who are transformed into dolls after their daughter finds a mysterious book and wishes her parents not to separate. As its name suggests, It Takes Two is a game that is played exclusively by two players and whose whole interest is based on cooperation. A perfect experience so if you want to play with a friend or your companion this summer. Through its original adventure, the title is teeming with endearing characters, clever puzzles and striking sequences that explain how the latter was voted GOTY 2021. And then, since it is reduced to € 19.99 on the PlayStation Store , you would be wrong to deprive yourself of it.
Doom Eternal
Well, it is obvious that Doom Eternal is not the best game in which to cool off since we still see the flames of hell being unleashed on Earth. For €15.99, this direct sequel to 2016’s Doom once again puts us in the shoes of the Doomguy who sets out to face entire legions of demons. so that they leave our beautiful blue planet. Unlike the first episode, the title here is more technical, and sometimes even harder, which gives it a slightly different approach. Anyway, we are facing the master of fast FPS, that is to say first-person shooters that go particularly fast. So don’t expect to relax in front of this title, but rather to stay hooked and tense on your controller to follow the frenetic gameplay of this relaxing experience.
Disco Elysium
How about getting back to reading this summer? Because that’s what it offers Disco Elysium: The Final Cut, the pearl of the C-RPG (Role Playing Game Computerrole-playing games on PC wholesale) which finally arrives in French and on consoles and which is currently less than 20 €. Very far from the cult titles of the genre like Baldur’s Gate or Fallout (the first two, not those of Bethesda), we play here a drunken and amnesiac police inspector who wakes up in a hotel room without really knowing why. Quickly, you understand that you are going to have to investigate in a city plagued by strikes and revolt. With very high-level writing, Disco Elysium is a particularly political and captivating title, in which dialogue choices are omnipresent to create your own adventure. This is all the more true since at the start of the game, you can define the characteristics of your anonymous inspector, which will or will not allow you to perform certain actions later in the adventure. A perfect title for the holidays where you can take the time to read and immerse yourself in a unique universe with such an original approach.
