Sony has announced that all online multiplayer games for PS4 and PS5 will be free this coming weekend. The promotion is valid from August 27 to 28.
A PlayStation Plus membership is normally required to play most games online, but that won’t be the case next weekend. Sony has been known to host these kinds of free multiplayer weekends from time to time.

One of the biggest games to release recently is EA’s Madden NFL 23, and players on Sony consoles can jump into the online multiplayer action at no additional cost. PS Plus is not required for each game, however, since Fortnite’s multiplayer is already free to play, but this is a good option for other games.
Access to online multiplayer is one of the benefits of PlayStation Plus. Others include access to a growing catalog of free games each month, cloud storage, and discounts. The new tier-based PlayStation Plus membership program launched in June and offers Essential, Extra and Premium options to choose from.
