Game News PS5 Pro / Xbox Series: 8K, graphics card and year of release, would a manufacturer have spilled the beans?
We’ve been hearing about a PlayStation 5 Pro and a new Xbox Series for some time now: to be honest, it’s likely to happen at some point or another. According to the manufacturer TCL, their arrival would be expected soon.
a release for 2023 or 2024?
TCL is a large-scale Chinese manufacturer whose rise is well established. The brand makes televisions, among other things, and it is precisely on this subject that it recently held a conference on its future and its various strategies. So far, so good, except that part of the presentation displays some disturbing mentions: depending on the brand, the PS5 Pro and the new Xbox Series would arrive in 2023 or 2024. A period already advanced by an analyst several months ago.
Is this really a huge blunder on TLC’s part or just an estimate? Difficult to see clearly for the moment, but the manufacturer seems quite sure of his shot and if he mentions these two new machines, it is because he plans to market TVs that will be adapted to them, in due time.
Specs already stolen for the PS5 Pro and the Xbox Series
Even more surprising, TCL even allows itself to drop the (supposed?) technical sheets of the PS5 Pro and the new Xbox Series, or rather a small part. Both would embark AMD’s Radeon RX 7700 XT graphics card, based on an RDNA 3 architecture. This would allow better use of ray-tracing, the famous technology that allows management of light, shadows and ultra-realistic reflections.
The other big argument would simply be 8K (this is where TCL would intervene with adapted televisions), while rendering in 2160p but at 60 or 120 frames per second would also be on the program.
Sony and Microsoft having never intervened about these new consoles, we will be content for the moment to take tweezers while waiting for a slightly more official speech. In the meantime, here are the photos of the conference in question, first shared by the Polish EPP site.
