PUBG’s next map will be revealed during a developer livestream on June 24, and the new arena for online battle royale looks big, roughly the size of the beloved Erangel and Miramar maps.
The PUBG development team will host a stream on their YouTube channel, starting at 10pm PDT on Friday, or approximately 6am on Saturday UK time. An official teaser image of the new map, called Deston, has already been released and it appears to be urban and urban, perhaps an enlarged version of Erangel’s deadly Georgopol region. Destroyed buildings, collapsing docks, and cars submerged under water suggest an almost post-apocalyptic visual style – most PUBG maps, especially Erangel, have a pronounced dilapidated, war-torn feel, but Deston , as far as we can tell, is taking this. to new heights.
Gloomy, dark, dangerous and beautiful.
A world of new experiences awaits you in Deston! 🪂

And it’s going to be big, built to the same 8×8 scale as Erangel and Miramar. Ideally, what we’d like to see is a focus on melee and building-to-building combat. Areas like Sin and Georgopol always provide the fiercest and most tense encounters, as you scavenge for gear and try to build strength on the upper floors of an apartment block. There’s something deeply atmospheric about crouching down, peering over the window sills, as you and your squadmates listen to the sound of approaching gunfire from the city streets. If Deston can deliver this, in more concentrated bursts than Erangel and Miramar, a little too empty, a little too spread out, then it’s certainly something to look forward to.
The PUBG dev team is also promising “exclusive new mechanics” for Deston. Whether this means new vehicles, new weapons, or map-specific gear, it will likely be revealed during the stream, when PUBG developers and partners engage in a live battle on the new map.
If you log in to Krafton and link your YouTube or Twitch accounts to watch the stream, you can also receive exclusive gear in the form of a Deston emblem and ten smuggle coupons. The coupons will be delivered to you immediately, but the emblem will not reach you until July 13, which suggests a possible release date for the new arena.
