Netflix subscribers have a new favorite show, and it has overtaken the hugely popular Cobra Kai to take the top spot on the platform’s streaming chart in the US. It’s also number one in the UK, though it topped there. to Fate: The Winx Saga.
Created by Ryan Murphy of American Horror Story and his frequent collaborator Ian Brennan, Dahmer – Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story was released on September 21, and the fact that it now dominates the list in just two days is impressive. It sees Evan Peters play the titular real-life serial killer, while Richard Jenkins plays Jeffrey’s father Lionel, Molly Ringwald appears as his stepmom Shari, and Niecy Nash stars as her neighbor Glenda Cleveland.
the show is so It’s new that the Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score is yet to be finalized, but viewers have been quite vocal about what they think of the show on social media. While some call it “incredible” and call for a recognition award for Peters, others have criticized him for looking too sympathetically at Dahmer. Similar statements were made about Zac Efron’s Ted Bundy film Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile and the Netflix documentary series Conversations with a Killer.
